Keep Learning

Is there something new you have learned recently?

Too often, we get stuck in our routines, doing what we must do each day, and stop learning.

Regardless of how old we get, there are things we can learn.

It could be something as simple as a new recipe or cleaning hack or something more critical, such as a spiritual truth or a new visitor’s name at church.

If we think we have nothing left to learn, that is an attitude of pride and arrogance and a dangerous place for the child of God to be.

We will only know some things about the Lord in Heaven, but that does not mean we stop learning. The same is true for our spouses and children, too. Imagine saying to your family, “I know enough about you. We don’t need to speak or spend more time together until Heaven.”

I want to challenge you to be intentional. Step out of your routine and learn something new. If you are a parent, show your children that adults don’t know everything and that learning and asking questions is okay. Show them how to keep learning.

The Lord could prepare you for a new ministry, and you must learn new things to fulfill your new position.

This year, learn a new language, skill, recipe, cleaning hack, Bible history fact, etc.

Titus 2 reminds the aged saints to teach the younger Christians how to live godly lives. However, God does not give an age limit to learning or teaching. We all must teach and remain teachable.

”But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience. The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed. Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded. In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity, Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you“ (‭‭Titus‬ ‭2‬:‭1‬-‭8‬.)

Stay in the Word, stay close to the Shepherd, and let Him lead you in paths of righteousness.

With Hope in His Service,

Heather
