What’s on the Inside?

As ladies, we spend a lot of time, energy, and money on our outward appearance, don’t we?

The Bible has a lot to say about how we should put ourselves together. Let’s take a look at this.

We spend time in the shower washing our body, but are we washing our heart with the water of the Word of God? Ephesians 5:26

We put on our cutest outfits, but are we putting on the armor of God? Or the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit? Ephesians 6:11-18 and 1 Peter 3:4

Our makeup bag is stocked with products we deem essential, but do we remember that while man looks on the outward appearance, God looks at our heart? 1 Samuel 16:7

Our nails are nicely done, but are we working willingly with our hands to serve our Lord? Proverbs 31:13

Our teeth are brushed and we choose the perfect shade of lipstick, but are we choosing words that please the Lord? Ephesians 4:29

Jesus told the scribes and pharisees that they were hypocrites and that inside they were full of dead men’s bones. Ewwww. That just sounds gross, doesn’t it? I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to be perfectly put together outwardly only to be empty inside. Matthew 23:27. Proverbs 4:23.

Please understand, I am not against any of these things. We should look nice and put together. But let’s not leave our heart and spirit uncared for.

What is on the inside?

With Hope in His Service
